Samsung Galaxy S - Upgrade from Android Froyo to Gingerbread



Samsung ready to upgrade the operating system (OS) for Their smart phones Samsung Galaxy S  from Android 2.2 or Froyo to version 2.3 or Gingerbread. Not just for the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S, Samsung also will upgrade the OS on Galaxy Ace / Gio / Fit / Mini into Gingerbread, in order to ensure performance and better user interface.

Samsung Galaxy S Froyo aka Android 2.2 will provide support for Adobe Flash player. Samsung also describes the increase for Google Maps, which includes a navigation turn-by-turn, as well as updates to search and setup wizard better.

The upgrade from Samsung Galaxy S Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3 offers an even greater user experience, with features including:
  • Faster Performance – Multimedia content now has a lower CPU consumption rate, while support for more powerful 3D Graphics enables an enhanced mobile gaming experience.
  • Upgraded Usability – The user interface has been improved, enabling faster access and control and a more intuitive user experience. Users will also benefit from improved copy-and-paste functionality.
The Android 2.3 upgrade will start with GALAXY S in the UK and Nordic countries from mid-May, and gradually rolled out to other European markets, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, Africa and rest of the world according to the regional plan.

The upgrade of Samsung Galaxy S Android Gingerbread from Samsung Galaxy S Android Froyo will be available via Kies, Samsung’s device management software. Kies can be downloaded from Samsung’s corporate website (http://www.samsung.com).

Samsung has just informed about the latest smartphone Samsung Galaxy S Plus new phone with 1.4 GHz processor speed by Qualcomm's Snapdragon. Qualcomm MSM8255T used in Samsung Galaxy S Plus is not only a single-core mobile first to reach 1.4GHz but according to Qualcomm also consume the same power from a lower version of a 1GHz CPU. Adreno GPU chipsets still use 205.

Galaxy S Plus uses the latest iteration of Android version 2.3 aka Gingerbread. The screen size remains the same 4-inch of type Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen full connectivity on Android phones with the Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. This handset will have priced $ 781 / € 539.
